We have our first bid-stealer of the season (at least it seems that way). Jen Rizzotti’s George Washington Colonials knocked off Dayton in the Atlantic 10 Tournament, relegating the Flyers to the at-large field, where, for now, they are the last team in. Consequently, that knocks Virginia to the wrong side of the bubble. Of course with a week’s worth of conference tournaments to go, other teams can play themselves in or out, so Dayton isn’t necessarily safe and the Cavaliers aren’t necessarily doomed. So stay tuned.

Elsewhere, Stanford is knocking on the door of a top-four seed and can get there with one more win. South Carolina moved up to the 2 line with its win and a Florida State loss. The Gamecocks won’t be able to climb higher than that, but should have a clear path to the Sweet 16 regardless.
