The Atlanta Dream have signed three-year pro Maggie Lucas.

More from High Post Hoops

Lucas last played in the WNBA in 2016 with the Indiana Fever. Lucas missed the 2017 WNBA season due to an injury setback — she re-injured her right knee just prior to starting training camp with the Fever.

Lucas suffered a torn right ACL in May of 2016; she appeared in just four games for the Fever that season prior to the injury.

Lucas played collegiately at Penn State, where she was a two-time Big Ten Player of the Year. She scored more than 2,500 points in her college career and finished her career with a Big Ten and Penn State-record 365 three-pointers.

Lucas was selected with the 21st overall pick by the Phoenix Mercury in the second round of the 2014 WNBA Draft. Lucas was acquired by the Fever prior to her rookie season in exchange for a future second round draft pick.

Lucas appeared in 64 games in three seasons with the Fever, shooting 89.6% (60-for-67) from the free throw line and averaging 4.9 points per game. She connected on 37.3% of her 83 three-point attempts in 2015.

Lucas could bring some much-needed spot up shooting to Atlanta’s backcourt rotation. The Dream also signed Renee Montgomery and Jessica Breland in the early days of the 2018 WNBA free agency period.
