2017-2018 B1G Preview: Ohio State, Maryland will duel to the end

The Big Ten may be the sleeper conference among the Power 5. Although the Big Ten has been a top-heavy conference recently with Ohio State and Maryland, the rest of the conference is looking to challenge that narrative this upcoming season.

This season, along with Ohio State and Maryland, Michigan is now in the mix of contenders to win the B1G. Even though they finished third in the league in 2016-17, Michigan found itself left out of the NCAA tournament. Instead, they accepted an invite to the WNIT. They won the entire tournament, defeating Georgia Tech 89-79 in a 3OT thriller. Had they made the NCAA tournament, the B1G would have had five teams in the brackets. Will Michigan use their WNIT tournament win as fuel to take the top spot in hopes of returning to the Wolverines’ first NCAA tournament since 2013?
