Former Washington forward Chantel Osahor named graduate assistant at Drake
The Drake Bulldogs have added a name to their staff that should be familiar to college basketball fans nationwide.

Former Washington Huskies forward Chantel Osahor has been named a graduate assistant to coach Jennie Baranczyk, Drake announced on Wednesday.
Osahor was a second-team All-American for the Huskies last season, averaging a double-double with 15.8 points and 15.3 rebounds per game. She was also a 37 percent three-point shooter and averaged 4.2 assists per game, making her an exceptionally effective player in a variety of ways.
After the season, the Chicago Sky took Osahor 21st overall in the 2017 WNBA Draft before dealing her to the Minnesota Lynx a day later. The Lynx waived her during training camp.
Osahor now joins a Drake program coming off a 28-5 season — one of the best marks in school history — and a trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Bulldogs went undefeated in Missouri Valley play at 18-0 in the regular season, followed by three conference tournament wins. They finished No. 20 in the AP Poll.
The program does, however, lose its leading scorer from last year in Lizzy Wendell. Wendell posted 21.0 points per game and was named both Missouri Valley Player of the Year and honorable mention All-American.
53 percent three-point shooter Becca Hittner will be the Bulldogs’ leading returning scorer. She averaged 12.4 points to go with 6.0 rebounds.
Drake will open its season Nov. 10 in the preseason WNIT with a home game against Milwaukee.
