The Saturday WNBA slate is a tasty one, but some key parts of the teams involved remain out ahead of the action.

The Connecticut Sun announced that Morgan Tuck is once again missing—this time, Saturday’s game against the Indiana Fever—due to what the team has identified as a “knee contusion”.  Tuck hasn’t played since May 28 now, making her absence more than a month and counting.

The Sun have managed to excel in her absence, but the addition of the versatile Tuck, capable of scoring inside and out while guarding threes, fours and smaller fives will only increase the degree of difficulty facing Curt Miller’s team.

Meanwhile, one of Miller’s rivals for potential WNBA coach of the year honors, Fred Williams, is missing Saturday night’s Dallas Wings game against the Seattle Storm due to what the team is calling an “illness”. This is the second straight absence for Williams, who has managed to guide a roster with five rookies into playoff contention.

Winners of four in a row, the Wings will try to keep it going with assistant coach Bridget Pettis as interim head coach. Following Saturday’s game, the Wings have a pair of home-and-homes, first with the Atlanta Dream, then with the Chicago Sky.
