Connecticut Sun forward Alyssa Thomas and Dallas Wings guard Skylar Diggins-Smith have been named WNBA Players of the Week for games played from June 19-25.

Thomas, who earned the honor out of the Eastern Conference, posted a near-triple-double against the Liberty last week, scoring 12 points with eight rebounds and eight assists. She followed that up with a 19-five-and-five effort in a loss at Dallas two days later. It was the first Player of the Week award for Thomas in her career.

Western Conference winner Diggins-Smith had 15 points and nine assists in that game, but that pales in comparison to her 30-point outburst at San Antonio earlier in the week. She made 7-11 attempts from three against the Stars and dished out five more assists in 33 minutes. This marked the third time in Diggins-Smith’s career that she has been named Player of the Week. The Wings went 3-0 last week.

Last week’s players of the week, Jonquel Jones and Candace Parker, were among the players also considered for this week.
