Over 1.1 million unique visitors watched the WNBA’s inaugural live stream on Twitter. On Friday, the league hopes social media mavens will make another online visit for a special occasion.

The WNBA announced Thursday that the championship ring ceremony for the Los Angeles Sparks will be streamed live on Twitter and Periscope. On Twitter, fans can access the stream through the WNBA’s account (@WNBA). The live stream will start at approximately 10 p.m. ET on Friday.

The Sparks had originally scheduled their ring ceremony for Sunday’s season opener, but postponed the festivities to Friday to ensure that Essence Carson, Jantel Lavender and Candace Parker would attend. The three of them were forced to miss Sunday’s game because they were competing for the Turkish Women’s Basketball League championship.

However, the rescheduling created a fortuitous footnote. The Sparks will host the Washington Mystics on Friday. That means Kristi Toliver, who signed with the Mystics in the off-season, can rejoin her old comrades one last time to receive her championship ring.

Twitter’s live stream of the Sparks ring ceremony will follow their simulcast of the Phoenix Mercury vs. San Antonio Stars game.
