While most of America was getting ready for bed last night, a stunning realization by the People of Online (The Summitt staff) sent shockwaves around the Internet.

We’ve known for a while that the WNBA has been steadily climbing to new heights. There’s more talent in the league than ever before. More fans are turning out to games. More people are watching on TV.

But there’s one area we have not yet explored: the mascots. Quite literally, no one has soared higher than them.

So, with so many teams seemingly growing Wings, reaching for the Stars, and enjoying their time in the Sun, it’s only right that we sort it all out. Here is every WNBA team, ranked by the altitude of its nickname.
